My goal in every session is to capture genuine, emotive images of your family. Connection, love, laughter, joy – that's always my focus. I will prompt you and direct you and move you into the light. But always while making it look natural. Beautiful tiny babies all snuggled up, getting loved on by their family, that's what I capture.

If you are looking for a posed newborn session including poses like the frog pose or the taco pose, that is not what I do! There are other photographers who do an amazing job with these types of portraits and if that is what you are looking for, I am happy to refer you to one of them. My style is to make everything look natural and effortless (even though, again, I will be directing you the whole time for the most beautiful and flattering images).

I do not provide any props or posing materials for my newborn or Fresh 48 sessions. However, if you have an item that is important to you, I am more than happy to incorporate it into the session. Some of my families have included special outfits or homemade blankets, for example. Simple swaddles also photograph beautifully.

Due to the unpredictable nature of childbirth, most of my families schedule the specific date of their session after their baby is born. However, if you have a planned induction or c-section date scheduled and want to tentatively book a date based on that, we can do so. We can always adjust if the baby comes early.

I only take a limited number of newborns each month and I keep certain dates on my calendar open so that I can accommodate them.

For newborn sessions, we can work around your family's needs, but usually late morning is best. Babies (and any older siblings) are typically in a good mood at this time. But if you'd rather schedule at a later time of day, that's not a problem. I can use portable studio lighting, so I am not limited by natural light.

For maternity sessions, it depends on if you want an indoor or outdoor session. For outdoor sessions, it's preferable to schedule those at a time when the sun won't be too high so that the light on your family will be pretty and flattering. I typically try to begin my outdoor sessions 1-2 hours before sunset whenever possible. If this won't work for your schedule, though, let's talk about options – whether that's scheduling an indoor session, or moving your outdoor session to an earlier time of day.

For indoor sessions, because I am able to use both natural light and portable studio lighting, I am able to be very flexible in scheduling.

For Fresh 48 sessions, during the day is best so we can use natural light, but I can bring studio lighting if needed for an evening session.

If someone in your family gets sick or you have another emergency, please reach out to me and we can discuss what makes the most sense. I go out of my way to do anything I can to accommodate my newborn families if they need to reschedule (while also remembering that the newborn window is relatively short and we don't want to miss it!).

Your images will be ready within two weeks, unless more extensive retouching is involved.

I do light editing on every single image to ensure that you and your loved ones look as wonderful in your final images as you do in person. This includes ensuring that the colors and tones are beautiful in each image. I will also remove any minor, temporary imperfections, if requested, such as a small scratch or a random pimple.

If there is a specific situation requiring more extensive editing – such as a request for a head swap – I am happy to provide that service for an additional charge. Please reach out if you have specific questions about my editing process.

Only if you want me to! Most clients love having their sessions featured on the blog and getting to see sneak peeks on social media. That said, if you don't want me to share, I will always respect that. The choice is yours.
